Parkmobile in the News.

23 April 2006

Nijmegen chooses Parkmobile
Following on the municipalities of Groningen, Enschede and Leeuwarden the municipality of Nijmegen has chosen Parkmobile for the introduction of a unique, web-based permit system. The system allows electronic issuance and management of permits with the permit-holder looking after his own needs via the internet.

In making its choice, the municipality of Nijmegen was not taking a leap in the dark. In the course of a procedure extending over months, 5 tenderers were assessed carefully on the basis of presentations and product demonstrations. Nijmegen's ultimate choice came down in favour of security and quality. The Parkmobile system has been operating for several years with many satisfied customers in several European countries. The fact that Parkmobile can get its system up and running a few days after the decision decided the matter for the Nijmegen's City Fathers. Parkmobile's label as a Microsoft Certified Development Centre was also conclusive, given that the system was to be modified to the many specific wishes and demands the municipality of Nijmegen formulated.

Parkmobile and Nijmegen are also conducting closing discussions about introducing Lynxx, so that multi-operator Call and Park services can be introduced later on this year, just as in Amsterdam. Very specifically, the permit system will be linked to Lynxx as well, so that on-street enforcement can be performed using a single system.

In the near future Nijmegen will also introduce Sphynxx for enforcement and city management tasks in the city. The linkage between Lynxx and Sphynxx is very definitely a standard feature.
