Athens has chosen Parkmobile's parking solutionThe Mayor of Athens has appointed Parkmobile for a 5 year contract to provide the City with an integrated parking management solution. Parkmobile Greece will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the complete parking infrastructure and systems in Athens.
The scope of this project consists of the provision of cashless parking by mobile phone, the production and sales of parking vouchers to residents and visitors e.g. scratch cards, the management and distribution of permits and the placement and maintenance of road marking and signs.
For the enforcement, we will deploy over 100 GPRS enabled handhelds with software to check the validity of the parking, issue and print parking fines. This application will also make clamping, towing and storage of vehicles that have infringed parking regulations more efficient.
Athens is the third European capital after London and Amsterdam to implement Parkmobile's innovative parking solutions. This contract with a value exceeding 10 million Euro will secure Parkmobile’s future national and international expansion and facilitate further development of our parking systems.
