Parkmobile's Pay by Phone Parking in Wandsworth

Parkmobile introduced the first pay-by-phone cashless parking system in the UK, for the London Borough of Wandsworth in 2004.

Parkmobile has worked closely with Wandsworth on a series of effective marketing campaigns and in delivering high standards of customer service. As a result, customer registrations have increased beyond expectations and in 2009 alone, revenue through pay by phone increased by 85%.

Customers find the Parkmobile system simple to use and in a recent survey, 94% of them stated that they would happily recommend the service.

Bob Langridge, Head of Engineering and Design Services at Wandsworth Council, said of the Parkmobile service: “The Parkmobile pay by phone system provides real benefits for both motorists and the Council, it’s quick, simple and fair for the motorist and reliable and auditable for the Council. Parkmobile are one of the few contractors who have always delivered on their promises and I would have no hesitation recommending them to other local authorities
or parking providers”.
